Fashion/style keeps getting better and Nigeria as one fashion loving destination, it is important to constantly watch out for new ones. Nigerian/Nigeria based designers had a great outing this year; slowing getting to a point where fashion enthusiasts can sit back in Nigeria and shop Nigerian brands all year round.

We have those designers who have made a name for themselves over time and the emerging ones, last year we predicted the designers to look out for in 2014 (and we were spot on!), we are back with the 2015 edition and we hope you will watch out for them. Check on our picks for 2015:

1. Orange Culture

Orange Culture is a menswear brand known for their quirky, absolutely brilliant and wearable pieces. With the fashion brand owned by Adebayo Oke-Lawal who doubles as the Artistic Director; Orange Culture had a huge exposure/rave reviews this year with features in international press as L'Uomo Vogue, Vanity Fair, a visit to the Pitti Uomo amongst others.

They had a successful outing as well at the 2014 GTBank LFDW and from the pieces shown, the brand isn't resting on ts oars, we see a brilliant 2015 ahead for Orange Culture.

2. McMeka

McMeka is a menswear brand with a bias for their bespoke suit;. a signature of the brand that is crafted to perfection. Mcmeka menswear brand is owned by Rodney Emeka who also doubles as the Artistic Director; he got everyone's attention when he won the MTN LFDW British Council Young Designer Of The Year in 2013 and till now he hasn't disappoint. He is behind the major bold looks D'Prince has been sported wearing in recent times. The brand is definitely one to look out for. He was at the the 2014 NYFW and also this year's GTBank LFDW

3. Iamisigo

Iamisigo is a womenswear brand owned by celebrity stylist and designer; Bubu Ogisi who doubles as the Artistic Director. The brand is known for its minimalist quirkiness as her designs are unique with a lot of fluidity to it, the Iamisigo brand is not for the faint hearted, the Iamisigo woman is definitely one who dictates her style. With a lot of celebrities owning the brand, rave reviews and the recent 2014 GTBank LFDW outing, we see a bright 2015 for the brand.

4. Re Bahia

Chic minimalist describes Rebahia owned by Orire Omatsola who is also the brand's Artistic Director, Rebahia is loved for the chic way they play with pastels to reveal stunning ethereal pieces. Clean lines, flattering, fluidity and so on come to play for the brand. Rebahia was at the 2014 GTBank LFDW.

5. Tzar

Tzar is a menswear brand, known for bold, unique and absolutely wearable pieces; noted for an array of bold graphic tops, their pieces stand out everytime. Tzar is owned by stylist turned designer; Ian Audifferen who is also the Artistic Director.

6. Eve& Tribe

Eve & Tribe has become Nigeria's Zara. With Eve & Tribe fashion is affordable and at its best. The Nigeria based brand owned by Simone Bartlett and Rukky Ladoja had a great outing in 2014 and we see the designs everywhere in 2015. Their pieces vary across moods and occasion and in pocket friendly range.

Top notch Nigerian rapper Olamide Baddo has had a successful year this 2014 and got a Mercedes G-wagon as a present for his hard work.

The 'story of gods' singer showed off his brand new white Merceded G-wagon on his Instagram page and captioned it "My baby is finally home ... Black range x white G  .. Thanks to God and my fans .. Xmas gift of life .. We done hustle small ds year".

Olamide who is an ambassador for the Guinness 'Made of Black' campaign has been very prominent in the music scenes this year especially with the release of his 4th album 'Street O.T". Tomorrow December 28, 2014 Olamide will be hosting his highly anticipated concert called OLIC (Olamide Live In Concert) alongside other big names in music.

Fashion Designer Dumps fashion For Politics

Socialite and fashion designer, Benny Obaze might have decided to dump fashion for politics. The designer has been in the fore front of the fashion business in the past few years as his first outlet in Opebi Ikeja, was no less a haven of sorts for socialites and fashionistas.

And with the success of Bevista really notable, he branched out into retailing female accessories with the unveiling of the female shop,‎ Rivista but latest gist has it that Benny has gone into politics.

Not only has he joined a political party, the Peoples Democratic Party, Benny, who is from Anambra State, reportedly contested for the House of Representative ticket of the PDP and has already won as the candidate for the Ogbara Federal Constituency according to reports.

Just when you think we’ve seen all the possible entertainers with political ambitions for the 2015 general elections, another one surfaces.

This time, it’s former member of defunct pop group, Remedies and pop veteran, Tony Tetuila who announced that he has also joined the race to serve his people.

Tetuila, who has just declared his intention to run for the Kwara State House of Assembly, hails from the Irepodun Local Government part of the state.

Recall that Tetuila was one of the entertainers who played a key role in the re-election campaign of Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola a few weeks back and the ‘My Car’ singer now joins entertainers like Desmond Elliot, 9ice, Kate Henshaw and others.

However, one thing that has caught the attention of his fans and close watchers is the hairstyle he currently sports in his campaign posters. The singer still his trademark blonde rough curls in the posters and his fans feel he should change his hairstyle to look more serious and responsible before he can be taken seriously as a politician.

Starboy boss, Wizkid has just shared behind-the-scene pictures from his new video shoot for the smash hit single, ‘Ojuelegba’ off his sophomore album, Ayo.

The video was shot in Lagos by ace cinematographer, Clarence Peters.

In a picture of the video shoot, Wizkid is sitting in a public bus popularly called danfo and captioned it: ‘Sitting in this bus shooting my video thinking about when I used to move around in the bus like this praying for a better life! Koko Mater D Banj To Appear In Court January 2015

A Lagos State Chief Judge has signed an order that the Writ of Summons be pasted on the wall of Dapo Oyebanjo a.k.a D’banj’s residence in Lekki, Lagos as the saga over his alleged debt issues seem to be heading towards a legal showdown. This is contrary to prior reports making rounds that the artiste had tried to apologise to his creditors and settle out of court. What this implies therefore is that once the writ of summons is posted, the case becomes a public case and further investigations by NET reveal that the case will formally commence hearing in Lagos on January 25, 2015 at the Multi-door Courthouse, Obalende, Lagos. You may recall that D’banj’s debt saga was revealed recently when NET broke the news of his multiple debt mess and also reported that he may be dragged to court by a top oil and gas industry player, Henry Ojogho, Vice Chairman of Broron Group. Ojogho, who is also the Vice Chairman of MindHub Technologies, an integrated Rice farming and milling production company, alleged that D’banj, through his company, DKM Media Limited, obtained a loan of over N60m from him in January 2013 and has not paid back the said sum despite signing an undertaking to do so. Since the news broke three weeks ago, D’banj, who had just returned to the country on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 after spending about 3 months in the United States of America, has refused to make any comment on the issue. His only response or reaction so far was a tweet on his social media account, which reads: ‘Silence, my response to the false rumors.’ All efforts to get D’banj to comment so far have been futile. He has been very evasive ever since the news broke, so much so that even when you run into him at events, he simply refuses to grant any interviews and makes absolutely no comments. Before the case was taken to court, D’banj was served a warning letter by Henry Ojogho dated September 13, 2013, with the letter stating:
