PHOTOS;Cheating wife of Greek ambassador to Brazil and lover arrested after lover killed husband
The wife of the Greek ambassador to Brazil and her policeman lover have
been arrested today after the ambassador, Mr. Kyriakos Amiridis vanished
without a trace on Boxing Day Monday and his charred remains were found
on Wednesday.
This is coming days after the ambassador reportedly caught his wife, Francois Amiridis in bed with military policeman Sergio Gomes Moreira Filho.
Filho has reportedly confessed to killing Kyriakos Amiridis in the apartment where the couple were spending Christmas. That he later used the ambassador's own hire car to remove his body before
setting it alight under an highway underpass.
Below you can see the ambassador with his wife, before his death.
Mr Amiridis and his Brazilian wife had been together for 15 years and have a ten-year-old daughter.
The charred remains of Mr Amiridis, 59, were found on Wednesday underneath an overpass in the city, inside the car the diplomat had hired to spend Christmas and New Year with his wife's relatives.
He had vanished without a trace on Boxing Day when he left the home of his wife's relatives in Rio de Janeiro and never returned.
His wife told police she was out shopping on Monday night when he phoned at 8pm her saying he was going out, and never returned home.
But today police investigating the case claimed they believe his death was a "crime of passion" after he had discovered that his wife was having an affair with another man.
Investigators reportedly found blood stains in the apartment, which belongs to his wife, where the couple had been staying in the Nova Iguacu district of the city.
Police believe he was murdered in the apartment some time between Tuesday and Wednesday before his body was dumped in the hire car and set on fire yesterday morning.
The man Ms Amiridis was believed to have been having an affair with is reportedly a military police officer who works at a police base situated a local slum.
Both he and Ms Amiridis were questioned earlier today at the homicide police station in the Baixada Fluminense region of metropolitan Rio de Janeiro.
Investigators told Brazil's Extra newspaper that they believe Ms Amiridis may have paid a contract killer to murder her husband after he found out about their relationship.
Ms Amiridis denies any involvement with the ambassador's death, claiming he never returned home on Monday, and didn't know why there was blood on the sofa.
Police are reportedly analysing the sofa, as well as CCTV images from the area.
Mr Amridis, who took over the ambassador post in January this year, was Greek consul in Rio de Janeiro, where his wife also owns a home, for three years from 2001.
Before returning to Brazil, he was the Greek ambassador in Libia for four years from 2012, MirrorUK reports.

Identical twins who share boyfriend reveal they now plan to marry him
Two identical twins who share a bed with their joint boyfriend have now revealed they BOTH plan to marry him.
Anna and Lucy DeCinque, from Perth, Australia, both plan to tie the knot with boyfriend Ben Byrne having met him on Facebook five years ago.The 30-year-old sisters say they plan to travel to Tucson, Arizona, to say their three-way vows.

They said: "We're in the mood at the same time. He's a lucky guy, He needs double the energy, he gets double the love and double the attention."

KICC Pastor Loses $5million To Ponzi Scheme
Kingsway International Christian Centre, a 12,000-member megachurch in
Britain headed by Nigeria’s Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo, lost $4.8 million
to a Ponzi scheme after trustees carelessly invested money in it.The scam was the brainchild of former Premier League soccer player,
Richard Rufus, who used to be a defender for Charlton Athletic. He
promised investors along with the church a return as high as 55%.
The Christian Post reporting the findings of an inquiry published 14 December by the Charity Commission for England and Wales revealed that KICC suffered a net loss of about $4.8m after its trustees invested over $6.1m between June 2009 and June 2010.
Rufus was a member and former trustee of the church. Rufus had guaranteed that the investments would earn a sizeable return totalling about 55% in a year. He was last year found guilty of defrauding about 100 investors out of a total of £8.7m in the £16-million investing scheme.
Kingsway International Christian Centre was the single largest investor in the scheme. The Charity Commission said in the report that the church’s trustees did not “exercise sufficient care when making the decisions to invest £5 million of the charity’s funds through the ex-trustee’s investment scheme.
They did not follow all the principles expected of trustees to ensure they comply with their trustee duties under charity law when making those decisions,” the report said.
After the church entered into an Individual voluntary agreement with the ex-trustee in hopes he could pay back the money lost, the ex-trustee filed for bankruptcy and was declared bankrupt in 2013.

Police Arrest Man Planning Man Planning Attack On Third Mainland Bridge(photo)
A suspected member of a militant group allegedly planning to blow up the
Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State, has been arrested by the police
in Majidun, Ikorodu area of the state.
The suspect, Abiodun Amos, aka Senti, was said to be a bomb expert, who had participated in several robbery attacks and kidnappings in Lagos and Ogun states.
It was learnt that two Ak-47 rifles concealed in a bag and a vehicle loaded with dynamite and detonators were recovered from the suspect’s hideouts around the creeks in Majidun.
It was gathered that Amos’ arrest followed an intelligence report received by the office of the National Security Adviser to the President.
The report was said to have been passed onto the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, who directed the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team, led by ACP Abba Kyari, to go after the group.
A police source disclosed to a Punch correspondent that Amos was a top commander of a militant group, which had been terrorising communities in Lagos and Ogun states.
The source said, “The suspect is a member of a militant group operating from the creeks of Ikorodu and Arepo areas of Lagos and Ogun states. The police got an intelligence report from the office of the NSA that Amos and his gang members wanted to blow up the Third Mainland Bridge.
“The group was trailed to a river bank in the Majidun area, where the suspect, an expert in explosive, was arrested. Two Ak-47 rifles hidden in a Ghana-Must-Go bag were found in his possession and he led operatives to a vehicle parked discreetly within Ikorodu, and a large cache of dynamite and detonators were recovered from its boot.”
Punch Metro learnt from another source that some members of the gang earlier arrested gave detectives information that led to Amos’ arrest, adding that the police were on the trail of other members of the gang.
“After receiving the report, the IG directed the IRT operatives to commence a full-scale investigation and it was discovered that the group actually planned to blow up the bridge at the end of November 2016. The suspect, who coordinated the plan, was arrested before the scheduled date,” the source added.
In his confessional statement, Amos, who hails from Arugbo in the Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State, reportedly told the police that his gang was frustrated by the military operations against pipeline vandals.
The 43-year-old man said his gang went into kidnapping after the bombardment of the creeks, adding that the botched attack on the bridge was initiated by the overall ringleader identified as General Ossy.
“We went into bank robberies and kidnapping because we wanted to get government’s attention and all we wanted was for them to grant us amnesty and offer us pipeline protection contract. We have made several appeals, but the government is not listening to us.
“General Ossy said if we didn’t blow up the Third Mainland Bridge, government would not listen to us. We had concluded plans and we decided to carry out the attack by November ending. I am the group’s explosive expert. We were about going into the creek to conclude plans on how to carry out the attack when I was arrested.”
The Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Don Awunah, confirmed the arrest and seizure of the explosives, saying investigation was ongoing.
He said, “An arrest was made of an individual. While the police operatives were pursuing another one in a vehicle, he abandoned the vehicle and ran but he was tracked down. Some explosives were discovered in the vehicle and two Ak-47 guns were recovered from him.”
