The Phoenix Collection Makes First Public Showcase At The 2016 Durban Fashion Fair

Last week at the ICC Arena in Durban, Quiteria and George presented their first “public showcase” themed the Rise of the Phoenix at The Durban Fashion Fair 2016. The collection is inspired by the hardship and beauty of their journey in the fashion industry. “Like the bird we strive to rise and conquer an industry that is hard to please, let alone break-through globally,” says, co-founder and designer, Quiteria Lebohang Kekana.

The collection’s reference was taken from nature, but mainly the Phoenix bird itself, with reflections of light fabrics and different textures with a touch of the Q&G’s signature silhouette. The two worked with the celebrity hairstylist Patrick Missile of Pat Perfect Beauty Palace to complete the look. “This was our first public fashion show and the reception was incredible, this is the beginning of many other fashion showcases from Quiteria & George as we continue to rise and conquer like the Phoenix,” says co-founder and designer, George Malelu.
